Russell knew the answer to that too well Being around Abby was torture but staying away was all out murder” Russell Hart has been in love with Abby sinceforever He’s a blue collar construction worker who thinks he’s not good enough for Abby Abby’s family has money his doesn’t So he thinks he doesn’t have anything to offer her He thinks he can’t provide for her so he thinks he doesn’t have a chance with her He is her friend so he can protect her and be there for her when she needs someone and that it’s enough for himmost of the time Abby has a family situation to solve so she doesn’t have time to find love She’s oblivious when it comes to Russell’s feelings Until one night when something happens and Abby starts to see Russell in a different light “I don’t ever want to be inside anyone else Abby I want you to unzip my pants whenever you’re wet and know I’ve been waiting—just fucking waiting—to get inside my girl’s pussy I want you to forget how it feels to sit down anywhere but my lap right on top of my dick Yours It’s yours I’m yours” For the most part I really liked Russell He’s kind protective attentive a great friend to Louis and Ben and most of all to Abby He’s hardworking he’s sexy and he’ll do anything for his love interest the innocent virgin Abby And let’s not forget about his sexy mouth However his sexy mouth wasn’t enough for me to truly love him He frustrated the hell out of me with his inability to believe he can offer something good for Abby with indecisiveness and with his stubbornness I wanted to smack him in the head times than I can count Abby was a character I really liked Even if she’s a virgin she wasn’t too naïve or annoying She’s kind loyal and passionate She’s a great friend and most of all unlike the hero Russell she knows what she wants Also I have to say I really liked her confidence The romance between Abby and Russell was really sweet and the chemistry between them was off the charts And as always Tessa Bailey knows how to write a good sexy detailed enough sexy scene Overall a good read 4 Stars Day one hundred and forty two of being friend zoned Send rations I love a steamy New Adult romance and I love Tessa Bailey Add into all that her gift for writing alpha men that I pretty much drool over and it's really a no brainer Having not read the previous two books in this series I wasn't really sure what to expect That synopsis ultimately sealed the deal Construction worker? Friends to lovers? Tessa's dirty talkers? SOLD You were put on this earth to make me crazy Abby You know that?I'm not sorry about it she whispered Does that make me a bad person? No It makes you a woman Russell Hart has been in love with Abby since he first saw her on her front porch all those months ago Being her best friend has been a special kind of hell for him especially since her innocent naivety towards all the dirty dirty things he wants to do to her does nothing to diminish his lust He wants her with a fire that only burns brighter and hotter with each passing day but he knows that the likes of him will never be good enough for her Her family can buy anything he owns three times over how can he possibly provide her with the life that she's accustomed to?Abby Sullivan is a good girl Growing up in the world of the rich and entitled has guaranteed that she's deathly terrified of ever showing any signs of imperfection for fear that she'll be left It's happened with her friends in high school and it's even happened with her parents So now perfection is what she strives for even if it means working herself to the bone at her father's multi billion dollar hedge fund company The attraction between her and Russell is always crackling with electricity until the one night where a dash of alcohol finally brings it raging to the surface You like the way I look? Hands braced on either side of her hips he leaned down and sucked her left nipple into his mouth That's good angel You're looking at the first man to tongue fuck your uptown pussy As much as I loved Russell's dirty mouth and even dirtier sexy ways he was also an exercise in frustration for me His inability to believe he can offer anything of worth for Abby and be good enough for her made me want to reach through my kindle and shake the ever loving stubbornness out of him The man was downright infuriating Add into that his inability to voice out those concerns with a woman that's supposed to be his best friend and I was waffling somewhere between ragey and damn near homicidal Luckily Abby helped balance things out nicely I'm always afraid with virgin heroines that they'll be too naive and mousy for my tastes but Abby wasn't that While she deals with a good dose of her own insecurities she was also incredibly endearing I'm not even sure what exactly about her that did it but she was a heroine I liked from the very beginning The sexual chemistry between Russell and Abby was off the walls hot Make Me certainly delivers on that signature Tessa Bailey steam and then some Six months of you sitting on my lap Wiggling around and laughing no idea I wanted to fuck you through a wall Don't you DARE call me a tease I'VE been teased I'm so fucked up I can't hear your name without getting hard As much as Russell frustrated me with his thought process his insecurities were rooted in a very dark place and the you find out about that the better you understand him I eual parts wanted to slap him and hug himand definitely do him because HELLO dirty talker I don't ever want to be inside anyone else Abby I want you to unzip my pants whenever you're wet and know I've been waiting just fucking WAITING to get inside my girl's pussy I want you to forget how it feels to sit down anywhere but my lap right on top of my dick Yours It's yours I'm yours Having not read the previous two books never lowered my enjoyment of this one and I can definitely attest that it may easily be read as a standalone I don't think Tessa Bailey is capable of writing a book that I don't enjoy the hell out of and Make Me was no exception ARC courtesy of publisher in exchange for an honest reviewFor reviews visit 35 Sexy Stars Since they met Russel and Abby have been best friends despite having stronger feelings with each other Abby wants him but doesn’t know what to do and Russel believes Abby deserves better than him Until one night changes everything and they realize they can’t never go back again Despite not being my favorite Tessa Bailey’s book this was still and sweet and very hot reading Well written and entertaining this is a good choice especially if you read the previous book on the series Rating 35 Stars Characters Development This was one of those rare cases where I actually liked the heroine better than the hero She was sweet and knew what she wanted Abby was a nice heroine Russel wasn’t bad either but he was so focused with the fact that she came from money that he almost ruined everything and that was annoying Steam Hot Sensible Subjects view spoiler No hide spoiler Ever since I read this author's first bookshe has hooked meHer heros are to die for and the sexydirty speak that come out of their mouthswell just get yourself a nice tall glass of ice waterTrust meyou need it to cool down after they talk dirty to their girlfriendNowthis is how you end a series and write a really really beautiful romanceThis book had me sighingchucklingslightly tearing and choking up and just flat out envy for this heroineHer man loved her so much and showed it to her in so many waysThe hero Russell was in love with the heroine Abby from the moment he met her on the stoop of her apartment buildingAbby had no clue as to his feelings and friend zoned himWhen Abby finally realizes she has feelings for Russellthe book takes the reader in their journey to HEAYou suffeted along with Russell's feelings of unworthiness as Abby is college educatedthe daughter of a billionairewhile Russ is a construction workernon college educatedHow would he be worthy of his uptown virginI loved that he read a romance novel to hive him pointers with AbbyTessa Baileyif you ever write the book Russ was readingI shall surely read itThe Dark Duke's Virgin BrideSo my lovefest with this book endsand once againthis is how you write a romance booka wonderful hero who was crazy in love and possessive of his heroineHighly rec this and all books by this author 3 Dirty Talking Stars “No man’s ever licked it but me No one looks at it but me” His head dropped his mouth hovering just above her nipples “That goes for all of you Every fucking inch of this dick tease body”I lurve Tessa Bailey and her dirty talking men Love 'em Unfortunately Russell's occasional dirty times weren't uite enough to make me love this book My biggest issue stems from the fact that Russell just Wouldn't Take His Head Outta His Ass Russell wants Abby but he's not good enough for her Russell loves Abby but can't provide for her in the manner in which she's accustomed to Lather rinse and repeat for the majority of the book I've enjoyed both Abby and Russell's characters for the duration of the series but this story got tedious after awhile “How did I fuck this up so badly when I love you this much? How is that possible?” I'd bet good money it's that head up your ass thing I mentioned earlier Luckily Tessa Bailey's signature heat and wit were prevalent so I still enjoyed my time spent reading this it just didn't knock my socks off like some of her earlier books “You were put on this earth to make me crazy Abby You know that?”“I’m not sorry about it” she whispered “Does that make me a bad person?”“No It makes you a woman” From the first moment he saw her Russell Hart has been head over heels for Abby Sullivan But because he isn’t rich he believes that he would never have a chance with classy Abby So they becomes friends and she treats him like her own personal hero which is better than nothing right? But keeping Abby at a safe distance and denying his feelings for her is getting harder and harder to do Abby Sullivan is trying to keep her family’s hedge fund afloat after her father had a nervous breakdown She barely has time to sleep Since finding her new roommates her life has changed for the better she now has friends and even a best friend in Russell who is super protective over her and has no problem scowling and growling at her And she loves him for that All the people in her life before has treated her like glass and when she didn’t act like the perfect daughter or person they ignored her or casted her away And being with Russell and her other new friends is something she never dreamt she would have Why couldn’t he stay away from her? Russell knew the answer to that too well Being around Abby was torture but staying away was all out murder Then an accident places Abby in danger and Russell comes to her rescue And after spending a night together that was supposed to be purely platonic and got a little out of hand Abby can’t help but notice Russell in a different way and fantasize over his chest hair and tattoos But he doesn’t seem to be interested in her the same way He keeps pushing her away and then kissing her and again pushing her away Can she make him acknowledge what he feels? “I love you Abby I’ve loved you I didn’t realize saying that might be all you needed to hear because I only understood action If I were a smarter man I would have said the words a million times I’ve loved you I’ve loved you I’ve loved you And this house is useless unless you’re inside it to make memories with me” He laid a fist over his heart “My memories were supposed to be with you” I loved how over protective and possessive Russell was over Abby and the fact that nothing made him lose control like being around her She brought out his dominant side a side that he never knew he had and it was super hot Their romance was SCORCHING and just awesome Russell was so afraid of losing Abby just like he lost his mother believing that the only way he could make her happy was by making sure he could provide for her and Abby just wanted someone to love her Both of them had to work through their own issues and I really enjoyed their journey and their romance Since the first moment I saw how the gruff Russell was blown away by Abby I have needed to read their book And I was not disappointed A definite must read for all romance lovers Russell He is everything Make Me serves up a healthy dose of steamy sex plus some really great comedic moments Although Book #3 in Tessa Bailey’s Broke and Beautiful series this scorching book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel and is sexy FUNNY and fast paced MAKE ME is pure Tess Bailey gold Abby and Russell’s story is an enjoyable delicious book written as always in the trademark Tess Bailey style of dirty talking Alphas with a healthy dose of reality humor and solid storylineI was hooked from the hilarious opening line of this book Russell is a blue collar construction worker who thinks he will never be good enough for Abby who comes from a wealthy family but is insanely attracted to Russell She doesn’t uite know how to move their friendship to the next level Russell on the other hand fantasizes constantly about the irresistible Abby and is driven by the need to protect her Will these two ever be able to move their relationship past the dreaded friend zone? Tessa Bailey writes some of the best growly sexy Alpha heroes and Russell is no exception As with all of Ms Bailey’s books you will need to have a cold shower ready while reading MAKE ME but the sexiness is mixed in with the perfect amount of extremely witty banter and memorable characters I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it for all fans of scorching hot New Adult contemporary romanceARC provided by the publisher in return for an honest review Trust me I'm feeling pretty bad right now that I only rated this book two stars I still like you Tessa Bailey don't worry It's just the constant push and pull between the two characters is maddening UGH If you can handle characters who keep on sending mixed signals to each other that every chapter literally every chapter showcases how flighty they are especially the guy then this book might work for you I've never been so infuriated with a male MC before Another thing he always thinks with his dick that I can't get even one POV from him where he doesn't think about fucking the female MC Where is the love? Sounds like just lust to me Eh I wanted to see of their connection to feel that what they're feeling is really love for each other but I did not get that So yeah this could've been better but it wasn't so two stars it is And wow save for the first book this series has been a total let down for me so far Review posted on The Eater of Books blogMake Me by Tessa BaileyBook Three of the Broke and Beautiful seriesPublisher Avon ImpulsePublication Date August 11 2015Rating 4 starsSource eARC from EdelweissWarning this is an adult book and for the eyes of mature readersSummary from GoodreadsConstruction worker Russell Hart has been head over work boots for Abby Sullivan since the moment he laid eyes on her But he knows a classy uptown virgin like her could never be truly happy with a rough blue collar guy like him If only she'd stop treating him like her personal hero—a role he craves than oxygen—maybe he could accept itWith the future of her family's hedge fund on her shoulders Abby barely has time to sleep let alone find love And her best friend Russell acting like a sexy overprotective hulk any time their Super Group goes out in public definitely isn't helping her single status But after a near tragedy lands Russell in her bed for the night Abby's suddenly fantasizing about what he looks like shirtless Chest hair and tattoos—who knew?As Russell struggles to keep Abby at a safe distance she begins to see through his tough talking exterior—and acknowledge her own feelings Now she's ready to turn the friend zone into foreplayand make him lose controlWhat I LikedMuch much better This one was so much better than Need Me I haven't read Chase Me so I can't speak for that novel I am a huge fan of Tessa Bailey's Brazen novels so I had hoped that I would love this Avon published series as well While I really disliked Need Me I really liked Make MeRussell has been in love with Abby since he met her He's a friend of Louis and Ben's and she's a roommate of Roxy and Honey's Sadly Abby is totally oblivious to Russell's feelings for her and treats him as her best friend He IS her best friend and vice versa She thinks his gruffness is cute and loves that he is always irritated with her bothering her about her safety and comfort Abby is currently keep her family's hedge fun afloat unknown to her roommates and friends She loves that Russell worries about her until one day he's taking care of her and she sort of wakes up and notices Russell as a guy Friendship turns into something but will what's standing between them keep them apart?Ahh Russell I really like Russell He is a humble guy working as a construction worker with his brother They have their own company but Russell knows one thing his humbles means will never compare to Abby's lush lifestyle Her family could buy his company one hundred times over that might be a slight exaggeration or maybe not and he knows it Russel has seen how his mother and father grew apart because she came from money and no matter how hard he worked it wasn't good enough So Russell knows he isn't good enough for Abby but he cares about her regardless He's a good guy caring and sweet I hate seeing him beat himself up over thinking he isn't good enough for her because he totally isNot to mention that he is one swoony guy He's sweet and caring like I said before He's also super hawt in the bedroom When he and Abby finally collide it's like fireworks Their chemistry is explosive It's amazing how they were only friends before Abby unknowingly tortured Russell for months and all that sexual frustration finally spilled over one dayI actually liked Abby especially in the first half of the book She is kind and a bit naive a hard worker taking on way too much responsible She's a twenty four year old virgin but she's not actively trying to change that which I really respect Abby is smart yet blind to Russell's affections Until something happens between them and suddenly she isn'tLike I said before the chemistry is explosive I loved the steamy scenes between these two Russell has misgivings several times because he feels guilty for wanting her so much even though he's not good enough or so he keeps telling himself the big dummy but it's not like the push and pull of Need Me Not nearly as bad The conflicts and Big Issue at the climax are not as one sided They both mess up and this time Abby is the one to try and fix things rightfully so in this case Everything isn't rainbows and sunshine between them but it makes their relationship all the passionate and steamy Also keep in mind that they were friends for months Lots of character and relationship development has already occurred I like best friend to lovers romancesOverall I so enjoyed this book I was hesitant about reading it after the disaster that was Need Me but I'm glad I kept going with the series I'm actually sad that it's over Though I still have to Chase Me in the series that I have not read Should I read it? Someone adviseWhat I Did Not LikeSometimes the drama in this book was a little bit too much as was the miscommunication The drama wasn't terrible but I also had to roll my eyes at times Abby is a bit stuck up at times instead of simply approaching Russell But then Russell is a bit proud at times not wanting to hurt her when he would be indirectly hurting her LE SIGH These twoWould I Recommend ItI really liked this one and I would recommend it to contemporary romance fans This book felt like a Tessa Bailey novel that I'm familiar with reading Maybe because the heroine wasn't as young and stupid sorry Honey Or maybe because the male protagonist was of an alpha yaaaassss Russell Either way it was enjoyable than Need MeRating45 stars rounded down to 4 stars If you read one book in this companion novel trilogy read this one It was bearable realistic and developed When I see Tessa at the Balti Book Festival I will definitely try to get a signed copy This is one romance novel that I wouldn't mind having on my shelf to reread Tessa Bailey's books never fail to be fun and sexy Both previous books in this series Chase Me and Need Me were entertaining books that I was able to read in a single sitting Together with the fact that one of my favorite characters in the series was going to be a protagonist in this one I was dying to get my hands on Make Me I'm excited that this was my favorite book in the seriesI fell in love with Russell in the previous books Unlike Louis and Ben he was rough around the edges a man who knew how to use his hands to get a job done since he was a construction worker He was certainly different from Louis and Ben who were a lawyer and a college professor respectively but I think that's what really appealed to me about him Add to the fact that Russell was a big supportive knight in shining armor I was pretty much head over heels in love with the man I love that we finally got to know Russell better in this one He was hard working and was the kind of man who pushed hard to get what he wanted Oh and he reads historical romance novels about Dukes and their virgin brides so he can get tips on how to make sexy times less painful for his lady love Abby Try not to swoon at that Abby was a character that I really liked too I struggled a bit with Roxy and Honey in the previous books but Abby was my kind of girl She was devoted passionate and loyal to her family business which I thought was very admirable Abby was also not afraid to voice out what she wanted I loved that even though she was a virgin she was confident about what she wanted out of a sexual relationship She wasn't one of those virginal main characters who seemed to have no idea what sex entailed and who were intimidated by penises  There are way too many of those in NA sadlyThe romance between Russell and Abby was really sweet too They started off as friends who were attracted to each other Watching their relationship unfold was a lot of fun as two of the gave into their attraction There were times when I wanted to smack Russell on the head for being frustrating He got it into his head that because they came from different backgrounds that Abby deserved someone better than him and that irritated him but I was glad that he had Louis and Ben to shift him to the right path When they did finally give in to the fact that they loved each other the relationship between Abby and Russell was not only adorable but also very sexy to the point that you need a bucket of ice next to you while reading as expected from a Tessa Bailey book I will have to say that for a Tessa Bailey book Make Me was a bit tame but I think it worked well since the book is rather short and having too much sexy times would have taken away from the sweeter moments Besides the romance I enjoyed the friendship between the gang They were fun together and I loved getting snippets of the previous couples and seeing them so happy One of my favorite parts about Make Me was the epilogue It was so romantic and made my heart so happy Tessa Bailey needs to write of these adorable epilogues in the future because they make the book a hundred times betterTessa Bailey fans will fall once again for another of her couple in Make Me The Broke and Beautiful series in general is one that I recommend for those of you looking for a uick fun romantic and very sexy NA series They are especially great if you enjoy palette cleansers from time to time like I do in between heavy books
