When five best selling authors join together for a book compilation you're bound to have hours of enjoyable reading And that's exactly what this Fatal 5 collection deliversAll five full length novels are well written page turning stories and each story has a uniue tone and setting My favorites are Stranded by Don and Stephanie Prichard and When Night Comes by Dan Walsh Stranded is a post Vietnam era adventurethriller with a hodge podge of characters stranded on a jungle island You have to keep turning the pages to see how they will survive and if they will be rescued When Night Comes had me riveted to its pages with its uniue concept of a man traveling back in time in his dreams Throw in a few bizarre deaths and you have a book you can't put down until you've turned the final pageThree of the novels are cozy mysteries with heroines who are civilian sleuths Christy Barritt's Random Acts of Murder mystery has a touch of humor and a budding romance I love the Appalachian mountain setting in Miranda Warning by Heather Day Gilbert This book doesn't have romance as the heroine is married but for those who prefer a little romance in their suspense there are definitely romantic moments Karin Kaufman's The Witch Tree has a serious intellectual tone and it also has a hint of romance Admittedly I'm not a big cozy mystery reader or a fan of civilian sleuth stories so these three didn't grab me as much as Stranded or When Night Comes but if enjoy cozies give these three a tryI received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review This is a wonderful set of Christian mysteries I haven't finished every single book but I've read three of them and they were good I plan on finishing the other two soon I wanted to get my review in when the collection was published; otherwise I would have waited till I finished all of them The three I have finished I've reviewed separately as well so if you want to see my full review please go thereDan Walsh's novels are always goodHeather Gilbert's mysteries are top notch and I never miss oneKarin Kaufman was a new author to me and her The Witch Tree at first sounded creepy and scary and I wasn't sure I wanted to read it I'm glad I hung in there because it was very good It's the first in her Anna Deering mystery series and I've since read the other 2 in the series Top notch as well here tooThis is an excellent collection of mysteries and the price is definitely right You can't missI was given this book by one of the authors in exchange for an honest review which I have given I was not pressured to leave a positive review Page Turner Very fast pace a real page turner Does that phrase still hold true when reading on your Kindle? Plot was believable and all was accomplished without crude writing Enjoyed them allEnjoyed each author and each book and would like to read from each author Would recommend this collection without hesitation The Witch Tree 5 249 pages read 12317 12517This very intense and suspensful story is beginning of a series about Anna Denning a widdowed genealogist drawn into some major confrontation by a local self appointed witch I was surprised about Karin Kaufman`s choice of a topic for a Christian novel and wasn't sure this can work though I have to admit it's one of the better Christian novels I read this year I'm aware this book is not for everyone I learnd way about witches druids and some of their historical background than I ever wanted to know on the other hand I understand you can't deal with or fight against something you don't know or understand and appreciated how much I learned about this topic without any research on my partI loved the plot and most of the characters very much especially Anna Liz Grace Gene as well as their relationships and character development The hint of a possible future romance or at least beginning of a new friendship is something that I'm looking forward to in the following books and hope to read by this author as soon as possibleA note for all Christian readers not fond of or affraid of paranormal elements view spoilerThere are some pretty scary appearing events but Anna makes it clear time and again there's nothing real to the so called spells and other magic practices but manipulation mind games combined with people's believesconvictions and in some cases pure naiveté and that's something I liked and appreciated most of all about this story hide spoiler Random Acts of Murder by Christy Barritt liked itMiranda Warning by Heather Day Gilbert liked itThe Witch Tree by Karin Kaufman was disappointed with this one because the Christian heroine goes up against the witch in her own strength rather than God's powerStranded by Don Stephanie Prichard Fantastic Page turning adventure with believable characters and story lines that only a great husband and wife authorship team could pull off I seriously doubt either a male author or a female author writing alone could have drawn me to both the character of Jake and the character of Eve in the same way that Don Stephanie have by the way that they developed these two characters and their interaction with each other I hope there is a seuel to come because I definitely want to read oneWhen Night Comes by Dan Walsh Good read Intrigue Mystery Romance Suspense Was actually hoping for a bit Christian content but the story isn't really lacking without it This review is for Christy Barritt's Book Random Act of MurderThis book was so much fun to read I love Christy's new characters they seem to come alive in this bookThere's the suspense action humor and romanceThis book has it all and is VERY entertaining to readThanks Christy for another great book Entertaining enough butthere was really little suspense From start to finish the reader knew who the bad guy was so it felt like the story was about proving it If you want some light reading though this could be a good read I appreciated that there weren't inappropriate snippets Want spine tingling suspense read it for REAL All these books have it These can't put it down books great for a rainy afternoon I especially liked Stranded by Don and Stephanie Pritchard didn't read The Witch Tree due to non Christian content A Nice Collection of StoriesI enjoyed each story in this collection and have reviewed each novel independently It is definitely worth purchasing as several of the novels are uite strong
