I don't think I've ever read a book by this author before but that's going to change for sure I love the images crafted up in my mind through the words in this book and I found myself smiling and laughing over and over again because of the comparisons banter and character thoughts Sure Avery's had a tough time but that girl is resilient and independent A summer internship turns into her working on a ranch and facing everything she doesn't want to face As much as I adored Avery I was frustrated beyond belief at times with her stubbornness and refusal to even just listen She's definitely a two steps forward one step back kind of person and through my aggravation I found myself enjoying the progress and finding joy in her journey My heart was seriously smilingI don't know of anyone who could resist the charm and patience of Owen not even Avery try as she might He's definitely not perfect but he's in her life for a reason Reader beware there are many swoony sparkles drifting off these pages and they'll set your heart a smolderingThere's a lot of meat to this story especially for a novella I loved the changes that gradually happened as a result of circumstances facing the past and discovering oneselfContent mild swoony romance kissing mild innuendo; mild language Avery's life hasn't always been easy She's struggled and had to work hard for everything she has If only her grandfather hadn't disowned her mother when she became pregnant with her Then maybe her life might have been just a little bit easier But no he's been absent her entire life He didn't even show up to her mother's funeral And now here she is Headed to Shadow Ranch The ranch her grandfather owns Why did her internship have to fall through? How is she going to avoid her grandfather now? And how is she going to deal with the heartache and betrayal of the past? Owen knows a thing or two about heartache and betrayal He knows that you can't let it sit and fester If you do you will become bitter and hateful It will consume you and ruin any and all relationships you have If only he can get Avery to open her eyes and see that her grandfather isn't the monster she thinks he is If only he can get the two of them talking He has everyone's best interest in mind but Avery sees it as the ultimate betrayal Will his love for her be enough? Or will she keep hold of the past and ruin their future? One summer Just one summer That is it She just has to get through the internship and then she can go back to her life in New York Away from all the secrets away from her grandfather away from Owen Life will go back to normal But what if normal is no longer what she wants? What if maybe just maybe she is done being alone Can she get past all the hurt and bitterness her mother filled her with? Can she find the love and happiness that has been missing from her life? I really enjoyed Wild Heart Summer The setting was perfect the emotion was real and there were definitely some swoony moments dreamy sigh It's the perfect afternoon readThis is my very first Jenny B Jones book and I have already added others to my TBR list Can't wait to read by her And no review of my would be complete without the casting What do you think of these two? Featuring Jenny B Jones' trademark humor and heart Wild Heart Summer is a fantastic novella that leaves you completely satisfied with a happy sigh as soon as you reach its end You're sure to swoon laugh out loud and want to come back again once you finish 455 Super cute; just wished it was longer I just love Jenny B Jones Funny Heart warming Clean Believablewell believable characters maybe not believable circumstancesShe's just my fave And puts a smile on my face Romance clean ChristianThis was a fun read I have always loved ranch settings Avery and Owen were a cute romance Owen's honest sincere and hardworking character made for a beautiful romance for Avery as she struggles to come to terms with the life that she has had to struggle with and her dreams Forgiveness kindness honesty all play a part in this novella Christian faith plays a part as well The last few pages were a bit rushed for me but the overall feel the work the tender feelings that happen with Owen as they are on the ranch and Avery is figuring out her footing was a lovely uick read Have definitely become a fan of JBJ writing I look forward to reading and reviewing of her novels I don't think Jenny is capable of writing anything that's not a great read I whipped through this in an evening and loved the plot and the characters big time my only complaint was that it wasn't long enough so it didn't have a chance to develop into something even better Jenny B Jones might be turning into one my favorite authors and it's definitely one of my greatest discoveries of this year Her voice is so fresh and light heartedThis is a very short novel so I devoured in a couple of hours but despite it being short it allows you to connect with the story and the characters the story is so heartwarming and the writer so talented that in a matter of minutes you already feel like part of their world So another five stars for Miss Jones and I'll definitely have the Christmas special on my shelf for next month Sweet I liked Avery although she had a really bad temper sometimes and a major chip on her shoulder She had been through a lot and was bitter And Owen was perfect and swoon worthy
