This cookbook contains literally ALL of my favourite components of food fish in all forms; smoked pickled brined etc 🎣 forgeable fruit ALL the berries 🙌🏼🍓veggies 🥒herbs 🧄 bread and pastries that give me life 🥐 and yogurtBUTTER 🧈The entire time reading this I just wanted to either be in a forest with my wellies and beanie on or snuggled on the sofa with some yummy hearty Nordic foodThe extracts detailing how each sector of food eg from the forest from the sea from the land sweets etc is ingrained in Nordic society was almost poetic and so gentle pleasant to read Plus the photography is beautiful I loved this book 🌲🍄🍂 First off the styling of this volume is impeccable The recipes themselves are uite appealing and walk a fine line between restaurant uality and fancy home cooking It is a little Euro centric in its ingredients and measurements but the section of suggested substitutions is helpful This is certainly worth a gander for its gorgeousness but I only saved a few recipes that I can actually see myself attempting Heerlijk boek Enerzijds de recepten die heel inspirerend duidelijk en goed te doen zijn Anderzijds is er de mooie vormgeving en de prachtige fotografie Je zou zó vertrekken Beautifully written and illustrated simple recipes with ingredients that are fairly easily to find Seedy Crispbreads Do yourself a favor You have got to make the Seedy Crispbreads from this book Don't let those cracker companies fool you into thinking you can't make a far better and delicious cracker The cuisine in this book is from the land and sea and forest goodness A true appreciation for the bounty of each Rye grew in colder lands where wheat could not It was the grain that nourished the people As did the fish The berries And all the flora and fauna of the region A great book Lovely photos The recipes are geared towards UK readers and a little on the sparse side Gorgeous cookbook A nice variety of recipes and good explanations of why they are new Nordic Bonus points for metric measurements Read part of this in a bookshop Stunning volume feels too luxurious an edition to actually take into a kitchen and cook with; would also be lovely simply to sit down and read Would be a great gift NB this isn't a hint to my friends there are other things I'd prefer it's simply a general opinion for others
